Saxophone Lessons

I have over 10 years teaching experience with both adults and children in one-to-one lessons and groups, both from home, in independent schools and the music county music service. I run my own music school Kingston Music School based in Surbiton, London.

My lessons are enjoyable, relaxed and structured to help you develop your playing to the best of your ability. I also tailor the approach and content to suit your personality, age and skill level.

I focus on building a strong foundation with the following core areas: melody, harmony, rhythm, memorisation, tone, theory, aural training, technique, improvisation, building repertoire, reading and notation, creativity, musicality and self expression.

If required: ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall Jazz and Classical Performance Exams Grades 1-8, Diploma, other auditions and ABRSM Theory exams

If you are a complete beginner I have a student model Yamaha saxophone you can use during the first trial lesson. I can advise you on the most suitable equipment you will need.

I look forward to meeting you soon!

As a 64 year old retiree with absolutely no prior knowledge of music, I decided I wanted to take up the alto saxophone, learn to read music and appreciate music theory. Sebastien was not fazed by this challenge and has been extremely patient with me. He is doing the things I want to do and allowing me to try and play the type of music I enjoy, namely blues and jazz. Sebastien is clearly an accomplished musician with high standards. Whilst he insists on me playing well with good tone etc., our lessons are nevertheless informal and fun. This is exactly what I was seeking.

My 13yrs old daughter enjoys having clarinet lessons with Sebastien. Lessons are fun, and they play variety of music. Sebastien always gives constructive feedback and encourages my daughter to try new music. I would highly recommend Sebastien as a music teacher.

Date: January 2017

Seb has taught my 2 children for the last 2 years. My youngest (clarinet) has sat grade 4 and 5 in the period with distinctions in both and my eldest is studying saxophone at diploma level. It's been really useful finding a teacher who can cover a wide range of skills and levels and it's been a pleasure to engage Seb due to his obvious enthusiasm and his flexibility in arranging lessons.

Location:

Kingston Music School is 5 mins walk from Surbiton train station and the K3 bus stops outside the house. There is also on street parking.

As you can see we have a lovely spacious teaching room. We also offer clarinet, piano, viola, violin, guitar and electric bass lessons.
